Because we care for the planet:
green options for a log home!

Green roof on Log Home

We are working on presenting you some options for integrating green building solutions into your log home. Taking care of our planet means taking care of our health. Nothing is greener than a log home to start with, incorporating some solutions like a green roof, passive solar, solar panels and rainwater catchment makes it even more environmental friendly and efficient.

Green roof in Norway at a rest areaWe strongly encourage our clients to consider green options. Our last Denmark project incorporates all of the above mentioned sustainable techniques. The images on this page are examples of buildings built by me and one is of an old grass roof building I came across in Norway.

The installation of the extensive green roof on our carriage house will be documented here. We have chosen to use the Soprema system (www.soprema.ca), however, the European supplier Zinco (www.zinco.de) provides a system more geared towards solutions for steeper roof angles.
